Staff restaurants to offer healthier Weqaya-compliant menu options

Abu Dhabi, UAE – December 06, 2016:Etihad Aviation Group (EAG) is working closely with the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to implement HAAD’s Weqaya standards and introduce healthier Weqaya-approved meal options to its staff restaurants.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – December 05, 2016: As part of its participation at SIAL Middle East Exhibition 2016, the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) and Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA), announced its adoption of the Abu Dhabi Certification Scheme for Pre-packaged food products. In a preliminary pilot phase, the certification scheme will be implemented for Dairy Products and Bakery Products whereby all items that meet the outlined specifications will carry the ‘Weqaya’ logo and ‘Abu Dhabi Trustmark’.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – December 04, 2016: The Abu Dhabi Childhood Obesity taskforce convened today to announce the launch and immediate implementation of a comprehensive plan to address childhood obesity in the Emirate. The plan which focuses on six key categories, is a result of a cross-sector evaluation that assessed existing efforts to fight childhood obesity, challenges and opportunities, in addition to benchmarking against World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations and best international practice.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – December 03, 2016: The Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the healthcare regulator in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced the launch of e-sick leave verification tool. The URL www.haad.ae/sickleave allows all employers to verify the validity of sick leave and print them out without the need to contact or visit the Authority.

Abu Dhabi – 23 November 2016: The Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, revealed that lung cancer is now the leading cause of death among all cancer deaths registered in 2014 in Abu Dhabi with 11.6%.
