Abu Dhabi - 21 June 2016: The Health Authority - Abu Dhabi, (HAAD), has announced one positive case of the MERS Coronavirus (MERS CoV). HAAD said that the case is receiving the medical care required.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – June 12, 2016: The Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the healthcare regulator in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, is advising all tobacco users to give up all forms of tobacco use and persist with their attempts to quit smoking, noting that nicotine addiction is treatable with medical guidance and support. To support tobacco users, HAAD has revived its annual tobacco control awareness campaign with the slogan, “Together Towards a Tobacco-Free Abu Dhabi”.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – May 24, 2016: As part of the 4th Annual Middle East Patient Safety & Quality Congress, the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi held its first HAAD JAWDA awards ceremony in recognition of Abu Dhabi Emirate’s hospitals that achieved the highest performance against the quality standards set forth by the JAWDA programme. H.E. Prof. Dr. Maha Taysir Barakat, Director General of HAAD, recognised winning hospitals under two main categories: the Timeliness of Care Award, and the People’s Choice Award.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – May 23, 2016: As part of its ongoing quality assessment and improvement efforts that HAAD is leading using the Abu Dhabi Quality Index Program (JAWDA), the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, revealed that one of the main quality domains, timeliness of care, has improved by 5 percentage points during 2015 in all operational hospitals in the Emirate.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – May 11, 2016: The Health Authority – Abu Dhabi, the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), has recently organized a training workshop under the ‘Iftah Ya Simsim’ health education initiative for 155 Head of Faculty Arabic teachers across the Emirate. The training, which is in line with HAAD’s vision for a healthier Abu Dhabi, is designed to empower teachers to play an active role in raising awareness among students on the importance of healthy lifestyles. The training centered on the use of various creative and child-friendly ‘Iftah Ya Simsim’ health education materials as a key tool in children’s health education.
