Getting to the PDIC

The HAAD - PDIC welcomes general questions and inquiries from both healthcare professionals and the general public regarding poisoning-related issues. 

Who should call the PDIC?

The PDIC serves and takes calls from the general public and healthcare professionals. The PDIC accepts calls from schools, the workplace, hospitals and other healthcare providers. All people residing, working or visiting UAE can have access to the services provided by the Center.

Who answers your call?

Calls are answered by pharmacists and physicians who are all specialisized in poison control and management.

When do you need to call the PDIC?

The PDIC provides assistance to anybody who has been exposed to a poison, has concerns about the amount of an ingested medicine, has been involved in a chemical exposure at work or home, or needs information about whether a substance can be poisonous.  

Call as soon as as possible if you think, or even suspect, a poisoning has occurred.  Do not wait for symptoms to appear!
