Department of Health Adds New Feature to Healthcare Proffesionals e-Licensing Platform
03 November 2018
  • More than 55,000 medical professionals will benefit from the new feature
  • This step lays the groundwork for the launch of the new healthcare electronic system in early 2019

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 03 November 2018— Department of Health—Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has announced a new added feature to the healthcare facilities and professionals’ e-licensing platform that allows authorised health facilities to issue and print an electronic copy of health professionals’ medical licenses registered under the facility. The new feature will also allow the health facility to print letters addressed to the Ministry of Labour (MOL) without requiring residents to visit DoH’s office.

The new feature aims to facilitate the issuance of medical licenses and letters addressed to Ministry of Labour, minimize errors in the process of delivering the medical licenses, and reduce costs and resources.

In a step towards encouraging health facilities to become more eco-friendly by eliminating paper and digitizing databases, DoH will no longer print medical licenses and will begin activating the electronic licensing copy for health professionals, which will include more thorough and comprehensive information that is more easy and faster to use.
