Abu Dhabi - October 7, 2013: Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulating body of the healthcare sector of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced today that percentage of late breast cancer detection has dropped from 65 per cent in 2007 to 16 per cent in 2012.

Abu Dhabi - October 1, 2013: According to the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) statistics, cancer caused the deaths of 407 residents in Abu Dhabi in 2012. Cancer is currently the second leading cause of death in the emirate, accounting for an estimated 15 per cent of annual mortality.

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA) today announced a new partnership with Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD); the regulatory body of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to raise awareness about the three most commonly occurring cancers - breast, colorectal and cervical cancer.

Cancer is one of the leading causes of deaths in Abu Dhabi Emirate. It accounts for nearly 15% of total deaths, yearly.

Updates of HAAD Standard for Breast cancer Screening- Screening High Risk Women is a continuous medical training workshop for healthcare professionals (HCP); doctors, nurses and technicians, involved in breast cancer screening.

Abu Dhabi Central Cancer Registry ADCCR-Sponsored by HAAD, the guest speaker, Dr. Kevin Ward, Director of Georgia Cancer Statistics Center, will train HAAD cancer case reporters on the best practice for cancer registry.

The Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) had launched the “Cancer Wave Health Promotion Project 2012-2013”, in October 2012. It last for 6 month, until March 2013. 

In alignment with the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) strategy to provide excellence in health care to the local community of Abu Dhabi Emirate and implement evidence-based , best health practices and programs HAAD has launched on , Monday May 13, 2013, the Cervical Cancer Vaccination Program- for young women 18-26 .
